| Home : Weather and Snow Conditions Links General Info Whistler / Blackcomb receives the most skier visits in North America (Whistler Resort is actually 2 mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain). The winter ski season opens on both mountains November 22. Whistler Mountain closes on April 27, Blackcomb Mountain closes on May 19. Summer skiing and snowboarding is available on Blackcomb Horstman Glacier with 2 ski lifts and half pipes open from mid June to mid August. Whistler / Blackcomb receives an average snowfall of 914cm (9 metres - 30 feet). Average annual snowfall is also complemented by snow making machines. Temperatures in Whistler are moderate throughout the winter season barely dipping below -10c (12f) in the valley and -15c (5f) in the Alpine during the coldest part of the year. Expect -5c (22f) average during most of the winter months. Weather can vary from the valley to the mountain peaks.
